Throat of the World

Twas a bright and snow day up in the throat of the world,
I was fighting a snow troll until I suddenly hurled.
I swung my Warhammer,
Even though my hands were soar and clamor.
The troll had no hesitant to make me die,
I’m not going to lie,
I wanted him to die also.
So there I was, switching from a Warhammer to a Bow,
I was drawing my arrow when a dragon flew past,
I thought I’ll be the last to die fast.
Everybody was done for,
I knew that I would be the first to score.
I drew an arrow at the dragon,
He was too high is the sky like a pigeon.
The troll was killing me,
But that wouldn’t make me flee.
I put my attention on the troll,
And that got my life stolen.

Traditionally Death

Authors Note: This is a 2 paragraph essay on a theme in the story “The Lottery”

What would you do if you grew up in a town that played the lottery but wasn’t for money? The story “The Lottery” is about a average happy town that has a tradition of playing the lottery. This is no ordinary lottery, this lottery is meant to kill somebody. A theme of this story would be tradition because this whole town has played the lottery for a very long time now and they grew up doing it so they do not consider it “bad” to kill the winner.

This theme is in this story for the reason that from start to finish it has always been the town tradition. It may not be right to the average folk but to them it is what they have done their entire life so to them, it is normal. The tradition is “fun” to them but not very “normal” The towns tradition will be looked upon as anger full, but not to them, it is what they grew up with and what they know.

Are They Together?

This is a 5 paragraph essay to improve on my goal of getting a 9 or higher in text analysis. (P.S. all things are made up about the gangs, none of this is based on real world situations [yes they have all happened but it is nothing specific] and are not fun to the average person)

Have you ever played something knowing the outcome wasn’t going to  be good? The short story “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson can be related to by modern day gangs. This story can be a text to world piece because people play for entertainment, modern day gangs do all of the horrible thing that they do because it entertains them. These two pieces can be related in the way that they both go for entertainment, somebody possibly getting hurt, and the fact that some people/ communities have nothing better to do.

First off, the story “The Lottery” was a small town that played the lottery, fun? No, the winner dies. This is saying that you play the price of the game. In modern day gangs, it may not be joyful for others, but to the gang members, what they do is so entertaining. They might rob a gas station, the might take that as being “their lottery” how they get money, and the fun (to them) of putting this person in danger. “The Lottery” is entertainment to the people that don’t win because they have grown up with the tradition of pelting the winner with rocks/stones.

Secondly, in both ways, somebody could get hurt from a gang, but they will get hurt/ killed in the story “The Lottery”. They could get hurt depending on what the gang plans on doing, if they rob a bank for instance, they will probably shoot somebody, if they are robbing a old lady on the street, there is a good possibility of nobody getting seriously injured. “The Lottery” on the other hand, the winner always gets hurt/ dies because they get pelted by rocks.

And lastly, do gangs have nothing better to do other than putting themselves and others in harm’s way? They will sit around exchanging looks, then get the bright idea to go and rob/ mug/ shoot/ stab/ gang beat somebody. “The lottery” is a town tradition but they shout change it to being something when somebody doesn’t die. These two are related from text to world because they both share a couple thing that are the same.

In conclusion, “The Lottery” is related text to world with modern day gangs by the way that they both put somebody in harm’s way, they do it for self entertainment, and they can’t find a better way to get their own entertainment. They have to do some bad to horrible thing to find some sort of self entertainment.

Human Cells

Authors note: this is a 5 paragraph essay to compare and contrast 4 different cells found in the human body.

Have you ever wondered how many cells are in a human body? Or what a purpose of a cell really is? A cell is fascinating, they help with many things such as, carrying oxygen throughout the body, help heal wounds, fix broken bones, and there is so much more. There is a cell in the body for everything, there is a cell in/ on everything too. For instance a bacteria is a cell and bacteria is on everything. Although the human body had over 100 trillion cells, there are four very important cells that do very different things.

First of all, what is a cell? What is the purpose of a cell? “A cell is the basic unit of life” (What is the Purpose of a Cell?). A cell is meant to help and do almost everything. One cell can’t do it all so there is trillions of different cells. Cells are small living organisms that are in everything. Some things are unicellular or are one cell such as bacteria. Other things are multicellular or are made up of more than one cell. Humans are multicellular because humans have about 100,000,000,000,000 cells in our body (What is a Cell?). Cells is the basic thing to life. It is said that life goes the same rate as a cell. Meaning, that cells are living organisms and that if we live from them that they are in everything. The nutrients from food has cells. Because of cells we are able to get energy, nutrients, and able to reproduce because the cell is a life function to help (What is the Purpose of a Cell?). knowing what a cell is and it purpose, there are some very important cells that are needed in the body.

Secondly, two of the human cells are the Microglial cell and a Dendritic cell. Seeing how rare Dendritic cells are, they were harder to find what they do. The DCs are meant to help bone marrow and help it grow and stay healthy. Seeing how DCs expand will help the bone being healthy and strong with the cell expanding and getting stronger. This cell is to keep nutrients in bone marrow and keep our bones healthy and strong (Wieder). And the Microglial cell is Microglial cells are cells to control and help control the central nervous system in a human body. These cells are to protect and help the central nervous system from any harm, the brain is what controls the system and the cells are meant to help it and protect it. These are only two of the most important cells in the human body.

And lastly, two more important cells are the Osteoclast cell and the Erythrocyte cell. Erythrocytes or Red Blood Cells make up 99% of all blood cells. Their job is to carry oxygen throughout the body. The shape of the cell makes it easier for them to move through gas changes and go through the blood stream better (Liang). Osteoclastes are cells that are meant to restore bones when something happens to them. They take out everything bad that could get into a bone and potentially ruin it or break it (The cell biology of osteoclast function).

In conclusion, the human body has more cells than you could ever believe. The human body has over 100 trillion cells! Some are more important than others but the four that I believe are the most important human body cells are Erythrocyte cells for oxygen throughout the body, Dendritic cells to keep our bone marrow healthy and strong, Osteoclast cells to repair broken or injured bones, and Microglia cells to help control the central nervous system. Bacteria consist of one cell; others such as humans consist of 100 trillion cells.

It's Worth the Fight

Authors Note: This is a 5 paragraph essay to score a 9 or higher in theme and text analysis for my goals.

Have you ever lost something incredibly important before; such as your two best friends? In the novel “Sent” by Margret Peterson Haddix, Jonah and his little sister Kathrine go back in time to save their two best friends. The theme of Regain of Friendship is huge in this novel. This theme is important for many reasons such as, you should always keep your friends close, once you have your friends it is good to never lose them, and the fact that it is their best friends. Many people can relate to this too, for instance, many people in the world, or even in Asa Clark Middle School lose friends every day. They may not want to lose them but it is important that if you do lose your friend, get them back.

First off, when you lose a friend it is always hard. In “Sent” they actually “lose” their friends. They lose them because they go back in time on accident and then have no way back. In real life it might be that you get in a fight and lose them and feels like you’re going back in time when you didn’t even know them. In the novel, they do whatever they have too to get them back. They go back in time themselves to get them. In real life it feels like that but you should try to get them. This is text to world because it happens every day but in the book the make it feels like the end of the world, to some people, that is what it could feel like.

Secondly, you should always keep your friends close in real life because once you lose them it might be the last time that they talk to you. For Jonah in “Sent” he didn’t want that to happens so he had to do whatever he could to get them from being out of his life for the rest of his life. That happens in real life but most everybody would rather it didn’t, if somebody had no friends, they wouldn’t want to have friends and possibly do bad things to themselves or to others. Sure in “Sent” Jonah has other friends, but he lost his best friends and would do anything he can to get them.

And lastly, anybody would do anything to help out their best friend no matter what happened to them; whether it be they break their spine and are put in a wheelchair, or they get in a car accident a loose their arms and legs. It shouldn’t matter what happened to them, you should always be there to help. For Jonah, he travel back in time to the 15th century, went into an epic battle that was a life or death situation, and managed to get back alive and safely.

In conclusion, the theme of Regain of Friendship is a big theme to this novel and this novel can relate in a way to text to world because it is kind of saying that you should keep your friends close because once you lose them it is hard to get them back. Jonah goes through something that is physically impossible to get his best friends back, people in real life may have be able to do the easiest things ever to get them back, but either way, don’t lose your friends.

Where's the Nature

Authors Note: This is a short piece to get a 9 or higher in theme.

The poem “Big Yellow Taxi” is about a girl that grew up in a town that was paved over and was turned into a big city that she then grew up in. For “Field Below” it was gain about a girl that grew up in a town that was remade into a large city. Both authors had a meaning to write these songs. For “Big Yellow Taxi” it was written because she grew up in a big city. So it started out with a lot of land and nature, but seeing how it is now a city, she uses “They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot” to show that it lost all the beauty and nature. For “Field Below” it is about the same thing, she grew up in a big city that started beautiful with nature but they took it away with putting up the city and ruining the beauty. For both poems, the tone would be sad because they missed their “paradise” of the nature.

For both of the poems the mood was different from what I expected from the song. “Big Yellow Taxi” was a happy song but sad words so I had some mixed emotions about that poem/ song. But for “Field Below” it was what I expected because I thought it was going to be a really sad sounding song. The piano of the song in “Field Below” really made it sound even sadder. The mood and tone of both songs would be sad because they both lost their nature that they missed.

Why Paintball Will NEVER be in the Olympics

Authors Note: This is a 5 paragraph essay to get a 9 or higher in all areas of organization.

Could you imagine two countries that have been in war with each other shooting each other in something that is watched worldwide? Well I’m sure you couldn’t. If paintball was in the Olympics it is likely that somebody could get hurt or die. For instance, if we had an American team play a team from Iraq something would not turn out good. There are many reasons that it would NEVER be in the Olympics and there are not as many reasons why it should.

Although paintball is a sport that many countries play, it will NEVER be in the Olympics because the Olympics was made to show how a country is superior via their athletes, because the Olympics is t promote peace and non violent things, therefore if you have two teams of people shooting each other there is no sign of peace in there especially if it is from countries that have had a bad past or present with. For instance, if there is an American team against a team from Iraq something bad is bound to happen. There are also many other reasons why it will never be in the Olympics.

Secondly, if paintball was a sport played in the Olympics it would probably ruin the ratings because most people don’t know that paintball is a sport. So if paintball was in the Olympics, a lot of people wouldn’t see it as a sport and they would probably change the channel until they think it is over. But saying that paintball isn’t a sport is almost like saying baseball isn’t a sport. But they both are, they both need teamwork, communication, they are point based, and involve movement. Although there are reasons why it won’t be in the Olympics there are some that would make it able to be in the Olympics.

But even though it will most likely never be in the Olympics here is a reason that could make it eligible to be in the Olympics. This could happen because it is a sport that many, many, many people play, not as much as baseball, basketball or football, but there are a lot of people who still play it, yes, paintball is a dying sport, but putting it in the Olympics could help that. This is a very exciting sport to watch, so if it is in the Olympics more people might watch it and get interested in it and try it. With them at least trying it, it will keep the sport alive and active.

In conclusion, paintball will most likely never be in the Olympics because it ruins the idea of the Olympics being peace promoting and such. And it will most likely never be in there because it isn’t a very popular sport. People always think that it will hurt too much, or it will ruin their clothes, but neither of those things is true. It washes out of clothing and it doesn’t hurt at all. So yes, there are some reasons that it could be in the Olympics but there are more that cancel those out and will make in most likely never in the Olympics.

How Free Were the Free Blacks in the North?

Authors Note: This is a 5 paragraph essay to get a 9 or higher in all areas of organization.

How free were free blacks in the North? This is a question many of us have asked ourselves. This is a question that is opinion based really; it depends on what you think. I believe that they weren’t free enough. Sure they were ‘free’ but they weren’t free to do as much as the whites could so technically they weren’t free enough. I believe that they were not free enough because they couldn’t do as much as the whites.

The ‘free’ blacks in the north were not free enough with their political freedoms. They did not have the right to vote so they were not free with the whites; they also could not be president. Just because they were a different color the whites looked at them differently and they could not do anywhere near as much with them in the political fields. Therefore the ‘free’ blacks were not free enough, with the political they also could not do anything with the political freedoms such as being the legislative branch and other branches. With the political freedoms not being free enough the economic freedoms weren’t good either.

Furthermore, the economic freedoms were not free enough either. The ‘free’ blacks had a hard time owning their own property because they had a hard time getting a job because they were “different” because they were black and not the normal white. Just because they were a different color they had to be treated differently. They could barely get a job at the simplest place to work because they were ‘free’ but not free enough to this reason. With not being free enough in both the political and economic freedoms they were also not free enough in their social freedoms.

Lastly, the social freedoms that they had were no better than the economic and political. Their social life was not good at all, they couldn’t eat a restaurant with the whites, and they had to be put on the other side of the restaurant. The blacks couldn’t even go to church with the whites. The blacks had to have their own church built for them so that they could do what they wanted instead of learning the same ways of the whites with their religion ways.

In conclusion, the blacks were not free enough. They should have been able to do whatever a white man/ woman could do, but no, they had to have their own rules of being free. The free blacks in the north were not free enough. They should be able to do whatever as long as it was the same law abiding as the whites had. Therefore I believe that the free blacks were not free enough in the north because they had different rules than the whites had which I find not to be very fair.

Mother to Son Parody

Well, son, I'll tell you:| Well mom, I have no idea
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.| But so far with you gone life hasn’t been well
It's had tacks in it,| its had its ups and downs
And splinters,| and broken bones
And boards torn up,| and hearts ripped out
And places with no carpet on the floor --| and places where I don’t know where I am
Bare.| wet
But all the time| but I always
I'se been a-climbin' on,| will find a way to you
And reachin' landin's,| keep runnin’
And turnin' corners,| and fallin’ down
And sometimes goin' in the dark| and somethings gonna get lost
Where there ain't been no light.| there aint been nothing to lose
So boy, don't you turn back.| so mom, I hope you’re tryin’ to find me too
Don't you set down on the steps| don’t you fall down this dirt road
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.| cause if I find you
Don't you fall now --| you’ll find me
For I'se still goin', honey,| so lets not stop
I'se still climbin',| keep runnin’
And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.| life aint been no paved road.

This is a parody about Samuel from Woods Runner that is talking to his mom. The speaker of the poem would be Samuel(the main character) talking to his mom about where she went and how he going to help. The audience is his mom listening to what he has to say about her leaving. The tone of the story would be more caring and sad because she left and he needs to help.

This is Just to Say Parodie

I have eaten| I haven’t found you,
the plums| in the house,
that were in| or in the rubble of what was our house.
the icebox| where are you?

and which| you could be dead,
you were probably| or captured by the natives.
saving| hoping,
for breakfast| for me to come help.

Forgive me| you can trust me,
they were delicious| I will find you,
so sweet| and bring you,
and so cold| to a new home, maybe.

Mother to Son

Mother to Son

Mother to Son is a great poem by Langston Hughes that has great figurative language in it. Some of the figurative language in this poem is “Life ain’t been no crystal stair” meaning that this person’s life hasn’t been very good and this quote goes deeper. This quote is meaning that the life of this person is nothing worth wile. Their life has been nothing compared to something like a crystal stair and they wish it was better.
“And sometimes goin' in the dark” is another metaphor from this piece meaning that something’s wont last a long time and disappear or go into the dark as is said in this quote. This poems tone is encouragement because she is encouraging her son not go give up and to stick with what you can and even though life gets hard don’t let it defeat you. The mood that this author was trying to set was more of a thinking mood, because this make you really think, what did she do to make it hard or why does she not stop, but the answer to these are in the writing.

Markof

Markof
By Brandon
Author note: I am writing to write a description on a character.

Most people look at me and turn and run in rear like a dog and a mail truck. I may look like somebody that could slaughter something as if he was a butcher but, yes it is true I could do that but I wouldn’t do it to some innocent person. Sure I’m taller than the average man, sure I’m not average looking but that give you no reason not to stay and talk with me. I am a nice guy, although I was thrown in prison for murder of a child but lets face it, we all drink in this city, we all have a bow and arrow, and those two don’t mix as well as venison and a sweet roll. People think of me as the life time killer because I killed somebody and I was sentenced to prison for life.

I don’t live like a normal person, I used t live out in the sticks where nobody would go, but now that I am in prison I don’t even know if it is there anymore. I may be in prison for this but now my mind is lost in a open sea of nothing. When I got in here I met this old man name Malcom, He showed me the way of nothingness which is what lead me to the sea of nothing. Our minds are lost at sea with now way out, and we like it like that. Other than that the guards told all the prisoners that there was going to be a dragon attack. Me and this old man was hoping for this because we figured that this would get out of here.

I am not that bad of a person, sure I accidentally killed her but other than that I am a good person. This old man told me that if this dragon attacks we may have a chance of killing it and we could get away. I am a warrior.

Markof

Markof
By Brandon
Author note: I am writing to write a description on a character.

As his name is awesome he too looks awesome. He is slightly taller than the average man, he is about 6 ½’ tall and weighs about 210lbs. He has no hair, a scraggly beard and mustache. He wears face paint around his eyes to look like blood and death from his eyes. He wears steal armor that is a chest plate, shoulder blades, gauntlets (for your hands), and full leg armor. It is silver with etched in “tribal” designs to look fancier.

Markof is the main character in the story “Beastblood” by Brandon Wegner, although he dies he is still the main character. He comes from no family, they died when he was just about 7 years old. He is a man that got his strength and courage from his loss of his family. That is how Markof looks and how he it as a person.

I Can (5 paragraph)

Authors note: This is an essay about an
important quote and why it is important. The purpose is to improve in my organization in body paragraphs.

“I can sell anybody anything.” This is a quote by Jenna Boller from The Rules of the Road by Joan Bauer. She says this because she is clerk at a shoe store. She is quite good at her job. But I feel that this quote means that she believes in herself and won’t give up with herself. This is meaning that she does care about her customers and such and she won’t stop at anything without selling them a pair of shoes. Jenna is a confident female no matter what the situation is about. This quote has many meaning behind it.

First of all, although it does not seem like much of a quote, it is. This is meaning that she won’t and possibly couldn’t give up with what she does. She loves her job more than most people. She is a person that will not give up and this quote proves it. With this quote it shows her character; she is a person that cares about herself and others. This shows that she will not give up and this is because it is true, she almost never lets somebody leave the store without a pair of shoes with them. She is a person that will do what she is expected.

Secondly, this quote is very important to furthermore in the story because, saying this quote is showing her character and how she acts throughout the story. This is a very important quote to this novel because this really sets up her character, by saying this it will prove to be that if you think harder about it you will get more meaning past it, by going one step further with it you can be able to see that this is a very important quote by proving that she is a person that doesn’t give up and is a very hard worker.

Lastly, this quote could have potential to helping her person by the end of the book. This quote will help because she gets the offer to be her boss’s chauffeur she takes it to prove that she is confident and will not give up on anything. She takes this offer to prove herself worthy and not a quitter, nobody ever thought of her as somebody who will succeed in the end, but she can and will, this quote shows that greatly.

In conclusion, “I can sell anybody anything.” is meaning is important to the book and her character because this does really show who she is because she is a nice hardworking person that would and can do this to people. This is a quote to help with her life and her character later on in the book.

Drunk Again

Authors note: This is a creative piece about the man Character, Jenna, writing a letter to her father. The purpose is to improve in my character development.

Dear dad,

Hello, this is Jenna your daughter, if you truly cared about me why are you drunk all the time? I ask myself this every day, why you may ask, it’s because I care about you, you’re my dad. Why are you drunk all the time? Is it to help me or hurt me, because so far it has only hurt me? You’ve never been there for me? You’ve only been there for yourself and your drinking needs. Who knows, maybe in the end we will figure out why you drink and why you are never there for me. Whenever I go to see you all I see is a drunk father that never helps me with anything. Why is it that you never help me and why is it that you choose to drink and not help with your family? If you really loved us you would quit drinking to support us.

Furthermore, why do you give me the idea that you really don’t care about me. Whenever I have the chance to talk to you I get happy, but then I realize that, your drunk again. If you think that this is going to help me in the end keep it up, but at least tell me before and make sure that your not drunk when you tell me. If you truly know that this will not help me, can you please try your hardest to stop drinking. I love you dad. Mom, and Faith do too. You really couldn’t stop drinking to help us, if you can, will you?

From,
Jenna

Driver

Authors note: I am writing to improve in my organization in my body paragraphs by using sophisticated transitions and quotes to support my reasoning.

Have you ever felt that you were somebody that was great at what they do until somebody important asks of you to do something that you would never think of doing? This is what happens in Rules of the Road. Jenna is a 16 year old girl that works at a shoe store and is very good at it. “I can sell anything to anyone” is one of her quotes that is true, she never lets her customers down and will get them the perfect shoe and will make sure she sells it to them. One of the main conflicts to what she does is person vs. self because her boss tells her to drive her places such as the hospital and other places and this will get Jenna scared because she has never done something so important for somebody before and because she has to battle between herself, her boss, and her dad who is an alcoholic and is drunk all the time.

As a start, her boss wants her to be her driver and she has a Cadillac and she is used to driving a Honda. Her boss is a woman that isn’t an unreasonable woman, she wouldn’t make her do anything mean or unworthy of Jenna. “As I was driving I glanced into my rear view mirror and saw Mrs. Gladstone reaching in her bag for a large blue pillow tucking under her thigh, she saw me in the mirror and quickly said ‘eyes on the road” meaning that her boss is not a mean person but is meaning that she has her reasons why she doesn’t want Jenna to see her. With her boss not being too bad she has other problems with her dad.

Thusly, meaning her dad is an alcoholic and has a problem. Her dad is always drunk and was never there for her so she is battling herself for trying to stay how she is and trying to fight her anger/ sadness because he was never there for her. Her dad came into the shoe store one day, drunk, and she could barely stand so she sat him down and tried to talk to him but of course he was drunk so she could barely get a descent word out or him that made sense. With him being drunk all the time she could barely do anything with him unless he becomes a non-alcoholic.

In conclusion, she has to fight herself towards both things in her life. Although she may be able to work things out with her boss she may never work them out with her dad. Her boss isn’t mean, but her dad doesn’t have a clue what is going on because he is drunk all the time.

D Day (alternate ending)

Authors note: I am writing to get a 9 or higher in word choice and conclusion.

Eli's Original Story.

1
It was a windy day when the man crossed the road and went into the bus station. As he was doing so he noticed something strange. A dark figure maybe 25 meters away seemed to be watching him. This man’s name is Dimitri. As he entered the bus station he heard the ticket vendor shout “next!” in a monotone voice. After he purchased his ticket he sat down on a bench and waited. Sitting next to him was a mysterious character. This man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and a black, seemingly heavy, vest. Then suddenly, out of the blue, the man grabbed Dimitri tucked him into a one handed cradle. Until he stood up he didn’t notice how massive the man was. Gunfire crackled behind him, he felt the heat of a bullet fly past him. Dimitri shouted “Who are you!?” at the top of his lungs, only to get the response of “No time to explain.” To be continued……..

2
The hulking figure carried him to an abandon radio station to tell him whats was going down. He explained the oncoming threat. and how he was the only one who could stop it. Dmitri thought he was getting tricked and started looking for hidden cameras. He didn't know that this was 100% reality and not a joke. The man explained that the creatures wanted something we had. Also that the government wouldn't give it up. For that little reason the world would go into utmost chaos to either keep the mineral obtained. Or to steal it. Humans went into battle with them. Little did they know that they were heading into a war not even the world could handle.

3
So we left off suddenly. So lets continue shall we. When you left we were talking about how Dimitri wasn't ready yet, so I trained him. After a lot of whining and giving up then coming back to finish he was actually ready. No doubt about my confidence in him. So we started a covert ops mission gave to me by my leader sort of as a "welcome to the club" sort of thing to Dimitri. On we went. When we got to the enemy headquarters Dimitri was in shock. Poor kid didn't know they were this sophisticated. Well believe it. So with me leading we slipped into the base undetected. The enemy was prepared. Although it could have killed me as well as many of the people who tried to complete this task before, but i knew what was coming. I saw holes in the floor, about 3 x 3 inches. Dimitri didn't. Luckily I grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the way just as he stepped on the spring to the trap. I'd say the sharpened stake was about a, maybe a quarter inch from his face. After the near death experience, He asked me what my name was. I responded with "Dimitri". He couldn't believe it. I knew he understood what i was trying to say. Yes as crazy as it seems, i am Dimitri Audoto. Just from the future. Now back to the story. Blah blah long walk blah blah sneak past infantry. Lets get to the good stuff. We were arming the bomb as "it" happened. Bombs went off, stun grenades were thrown, I could see, but he couldn't. I took action of sacrificing my life to save his. I picked him up over my shoulder. put him in the nearest alien looking vehicle. Then I. I grabbed something heavy and put it on the pedal of the vehicle he was in but his hand stopped me. A bleeding me asked me what i was doing. I said "well someone has to do something about these freaks". With a smirk i dropped the rock on the pedal. The vehicle skittered up dust as it went full speed out of the vehicle hangar. I went over to arm the bomb knowing i wouldn't have time to get out of the blast zone. Then, out of nowhere something savage filled me. I aimed at a freak's head and pulled the trigger till it almost broke i did the same to 3 others but then, the bomb went off. The future me died with the rest of them. I bet you never noticed this is the present me telling the story right? Well if you were following correctly what i was just telling you happened long ago. So technically I am the new improved future me. Freaky right? Well if you could catch my drift and comprehend what i'm saying you would know.

My alternate ending to Eli's version.

Although they didn’t stand a chance, Dimiti knew they could. The government didn’t bother to help because they knew that only one man could stop it. As the large man grabbed Dimitri again he took him to a portal. The large man shoved Dimitri into the portal and Dimitri disappeared. The large man jumped in with him and they ended up into a different world, that was in th future. Dimitri was amazed by how different it was. The large man explained what was going to happen. As he was explaining there was laser shots starting to go past from a large building. Dimitri knew what to do, he needed the large man to smuggle him into the building for his plan to come through. As the man flakily tied him up and put him in a wagon type trailer. As the large man got him into the building he got down to the basement and managed to sneak past the guards in the building and planted a bomb to destroy the building that was the cause to this war that was going to happen in the future. As the bomb was counting down he heard footsteps coming down the steps. He turned around very fast and as soon as he got to the full 180° he was shot in the heart and instantly died. By the time the man that shot him got to the bomb it had 0.2secondes so it still detonated and stopped the war that was going to happen. Although he died, he is still alive in present day.

Beastblood

Authors note: I am writing to get a 9 or higher in word choice and conclusion.

Key:
Markof (Mark-Ov) The main Character.
Athmesa (a-th-me-sa) The name of the city.
Armena (Are-mean-a) One of the most powerful gods to this city.

“Aye, did you see that dragon there?”

“Yeah, I thought that we’d be dead for sure.”

“Here, let me take those brass cuffs off.”

“Thank you, now we need to get out of here before it finds us.”

“Here, take this sword, I don’t need it anymore, the way I see it I’m old and your young, you have more use of it than I do. Seeing how we barely made it out alive I don’t think I have much more life in me.”

“Really, did you make it yourself?”

“No, my father did, though I have no idea what your name is, I have faith in you, I can tell that you are a person that doesn’t stop at anything until he accomplishes what he needs. I see that you are a warrior, a fighter, a patriot; here in Althmesa most people have no hope, until you. You have beastblood.”

“What is that?”

“It means that when you kill or attack something that pretty much anybody would die from, such as a dragon, ware wolf, woolly mammoth, or anything in that arrangement, you can kill it and when you do you take its blood without trying which makes you a better warrior and makes you even more special to others of Athmesa.”

“So, what you mean is that… I’m possessed?”

“Not necessarily, it means that you have a gift. Only certain people in Althmesa can do such.”

“Okay. Does it do anything special?”

“Oh yes, it will make you do what you want when you want. But beware, use it too much in a day and you won’t be the only person that will die.”

“Well, how much is too much?”

“That is something that I don’t know, I’m still here aren’t I, I warn you, try not to use it more than 4 times a day, that is the most I have and I am still hear, thank Armena”

Markof always thought that he was just a normal warrior. But for little did he know he was possessed in a good way. Or at least that is what the old man said. Markof was a middle age mad that was a member of the Archers Club, the Archers Club is where warriors from all over Athmesa go to become a Archer. Markof was one of the best that Athmesa has ever seen, he holds the longest bulls-eye from ½ a mile. He has more game kills than anybody has ever seen and he has now found that he is possessed.

Markof thinks that the old man was making this up but then he thought, Why did I take that dragons blood, I didn’t try to, I couldn’t stop what I was doing, I don’t understand why I would want its blood though?

“Ha, I forgot to tell you, when you’re a beastblood you can read peoples mind on command. Oh, and you took the dragons blood because you are have the possession of beastblood.” explained the old man.

“Do you really think that I believe you, I’m supposed to believe an old man that I just broke out of prison with and killed a dragon with?” replied Markof

“Well I would think so.” said the old man.

“Well I think I will just ask somebody that I can actually trust.” said Markof.

“If I was lieing to you would I have given you my sword, would I have gotten the cuffs off of you, would I have helped you out of prison, and would I have helped you kill that dragon?” asked the old man.

How can I be sure that he isn’t lying or if he is telling the truth. thought Markof.

“But why would I believe something so weird as taking the beast’s blood after I killed it.” said Markof.

“Why wouldn’t you believe that, you did it didn’t you.” replied the old man.

“I don’t know.” said Markof

As they contributed their thoughts about this they noticed that there was something creeping up behind them.

“What was that?” said Markof.

“What was wha…” said the old man as he was ripped to shreds by a warewolf. His limbs flying like birds take off when somebody scares them, his blood pouring out of his wound as if he was a little red waterfall.

As Markof stood in awe as the old man was ripped to shreds he heard a hared of Mammoths coming for him and he heard the roar of a dragon coming from behind. It sounded as if he was going into a carnival back in the 1800’s when there were murderous games that were played. The loud noises got Markof nervous.

There he stands in the middle of a warewolf, twelve Mammoths and four dragons. Markof knew that he couldn’t do this. As the beasts came closer and closer, Markof slowly grabbed his sword off his back and stood in the middle waiting for one to make the first move. The dragon, the biggest beast there, started to creep forward, Markof slowly got a good grip on his sword. He lifted it about flush with his ear, he had his elbows locked for more strength. The dragon blew his fire as he was puking at Markof, Markof didn’t move a muscle. When the dragon finished his fire, Markof was scorched.

Right when the fire stopped every beast started to move forward, Markof knew this was going to happen so he dropped his sword and stood waiting to die. As the brutal battle started Markof stood calmly as they ripped, slashed, burned and eaten him alive. Markof knew this Beastblood mishap was a myth, he didn’t want to live a lie, so he took the sacrifice to die and not live his lie that he got from an old man that he met in prison.

If This Had Happened...

Authors note: I am writing to improve on the organization with adding quotes in my writing.

If Roger hadn’t tried to take her pocket book he wouldn’t have gotten fed, had his face washed and gotten the ten dollars. If he hadn't fallen over/or not even try to take it he wouldn’t have gotten anything from Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. If could have run away with her purse he most likely wouldn’t feel good about him self, he wouldn’t have had anything to eat, and his face would stay filthy. Because she held on to the bag, he did get food, his face washed, and ten dollars for his blue sued shoes.

Obi Developed

Authors note: This is to be graded on the reading rubric for the Character Development section.

Not every character in a story is the same; Michael Obi is a new Headmaster at a school. He was kind of a show off that he thought that younger people can be smarter than older people because he came into the school and was younger than all the teachers and he was smarter. He was a guy that was cocky, arrogant and a little selfish. He was a man that had many emotions. He was excited that he got that job, but he was also mad that he noticed that people were going though school grounds for the fun of it he thought. But after he closed that path, he got both mad and sad because the school grounds were ruined. But the day after he closed it he had those feelings because of the school and that somebody died because they couldn’t get through the path.

Michael Obi was a good man. But when he didn’t like something he changed it and that ruined his satisfaction. He then became a more humble man and didn’t do anything to something that wasn’t his. He was a man that used to get his way sometimes, but after what happened I believe that he will change because something that meant a lot to him was ruined because of one little thing that he did that turned from a little thing into a really big problem.
